Questions and answers
1. When is it necessary to consult an oncologist?
An oncologist is a doctor who coordinates the treatment of a patient with cancer (he is considered a "curator" or "leader of treatment"). Thus, it is necessary to turn to an oncologist when the patient has evidence of the existence of a cancerous tumor and its origin, as well as an assessment of the degree of spread of the tumor in the body.
2. What is necessary to bring to the meeting with the oncologist?
At the meeting, it is recommended that the patient be present, to whom the oncologist will give recommendations. I have enough experience to tell a person correctly and tactfully about his illness.
The patient must bring to the meeting all the necessary medical documents from the moment the disease was diagnosed.
Medical documents reflecting the very beginning of the disease and recent research results are of great importance. Information is needed about the treatment received in the past, if any, and also about its duration and reactions to the organism (history of illness).
You should prepare questions for the oncologist in advance so that nothing is forgotten at the meeting. It is desirable to meet with one or two escorts who will be present during the conversation and, if necessary, will be able to help.
3. Can the meeting be held in the absence of the patient?
The patient's presence is desirable, but the meeting can be held without it.
4. What types of treatment are available?
Treatment of oncological diseases in the 21st century is varied and usually adapted to a specific patient (individual medicine).
Treatment is surgical, radiological and pharmacological, depending on the type of tumor, its location and spread, type of tissue and biological characteristics.
5. Where is the treatment carried out?
Each type of treatment and method of its treatment are determined by the place of treatment. Surgical treatment, radiation and intravenous or intravenous injections are carried out in the hospital. On the other hand, treatment with tablets or intramuscular injections is carried out at home.
6. What research is necessary to carry out?
Checks, necessary for the consultation of tourists, are carried out according to the agreement with me before the trip. Each patient who plans to come, and his accompanying person, receive, according to the preliminary data provided to me, an examination plan, compiled so that they come to my clinic with all the information necessary to provide therapeutic recommendations.
7. Are non-traditional/supportive therapy acceptable in the treatment of oncological diseases?
If the effectiveness of the drug or treatment method is not properly proven, and the specialists do not have a single opinion about them, then I am ready to consider this therapeutic approach as a supplement to the necessary and proven treatment methods. At the same time, all procedures must be conducted by qualified and professional people, and the choice of professionals must be made after consultation.
8. What is the importance of genetic and molecular testing?
The information obtained as a result of genetic and molecular tests is extremely important for determining the therapeutic approach. This information in some cases even affects the chances of recovery and life expectancy. This information can change the choice of preferred treatment for the patient from treatment A to treatment B.
9. Is there a refund for consultation?
This is a private consultation that is not included in the hospital basket.
However, the health care funds "Klalit", "Meuhedet" and "Leumit" accept reimbursement of expenses for consultations provided in our clinic, as well as additional compensation from all insurance companies (health insurance). A return application can be submitted directly to the insurance company outside the hospital.
10. Where is our clinic located and how to contact it?
